Summer Reading List

Something not a lot of you may know about me is that I love to read a good book! I usually will take a book with me everywhere I go. Wether its to work, on a plane, to the hospital…(haha you never know). There will always be a book in my car or in my bag at all times. Reading got a little slim this year since the business picked up for me with the photography business, and my personal day job. But, I always see people posting on Facebook for recommendations on what to read. I figured I’d put together a blog about some of my recent favorites for you all to check out and give them a read! I’m hoping I can finish at least 2 books from now until the end of the year. Seems like a small goal, but it’s a goal! Check out the books I have listed below and let me know if you have read them, or what your favorites have been this year!!

  1. What Alice Forgot

“She HATES the gym) and is whisked off to the hospital where she discovers the honeymoon is truly over—she’s getting divorced, she has three kids, and she’s actually 39 years old. Alice must reconstruct the events of a lost decade, and find out whether it’s possible to reconstruct her life at the same time.”

I could NOT put this book down once I started! Hands down my favorite book! I wanted to continue reading to figure out what was going to happen next. This book started the author crush I have for Liane Moriarty. She’s definitely one of the favorites.

2. If Only You Knew

“Letting go of her ex-husband is harder than wedding-dress designer Jenny Tate expected . . . especially since his new wife wants to be Jenny’s new best friend. Sensing this isn’t exactly helping her achieve closure, Jenny trades the Manhattan skyline for her hometown up the Hudson, where she’ll start her own business and bask in her sister Rachel’s picture-perfect family life . . . and maybe even find a little romance of her own with Leo, her downstairs neighbor, a guy who’s utterly irresistible and annoyingly distant at the same time.”

This was another one of those books that I just couldn’t set down! I love books that I can just get sucked into the story and forget about everything else but that story that I’m reading. Thank you Target for making it hard for me to stop buying everything I see, and having this book on display one day for me to grab. I appreciate it!

3. Husband’s Secret

“Cecilia Fitzpatrick, devoted mother, successful Tupperware business owner and efficient P&C President, has found a letter from her husband.”For my wife, Cecilia FitzpatrickTo be opened only in the event of my death”But Cecilia’s husband isn’t dead, he’s on a business trip. And when she questions him about it on the phone, Cecilia senses something she hasn’t experienced before. John-Paul is lying. What happens next changes Cecilia’s formerly blissful suburban existence forever, and the consequences will be life-changing for the most unexpected people.”

Again, Liane Moriarty kills it with another great book. After this one I probably went and bought 2 more of her books in which I am starting one of them now. Hopefully I can finish that one in a few days and be one step closer to reaching that goal of two books. haha.

4. The Girl on the Train

Okay you need to read this book. I picked this up in the Gatwick airport before flying home after my 3 week long Europe trip. I figured I might as well grab a book and read it. It was on display everywhere and everyone was swarming next to it. So I grabbed it. got on the plane and once we took off I barely set it down. From London to Canada, Canada to Nevada I read the whole way, finishing the entire book. It is a must read! I recommend reading the book then watching the movie, I know it has been out for a little while now and some of you have probably already watched the movie first. But seriously, read the book too! haha.

I can keep on going but I’ll keep it short and sweet! I’ll update the book list as I continue to read more! I’d love to read any recommendations you may have for me!
